Arinc 600 connector insulator Pins or sockets crimped onto wires are installed into insulators using removal tools, for this:
1. Place the wire into the longitudinal slot of the painted side of the removal tool.
2. Move the removal tool along the wire until it stops at the contact flange.
3. Holding the insulator facing the installer with the mounting (back) side (the interface (outer) side for printed circuit wiring contacts), insert the contact into the required hole of the insulator and with a smooth forward movement push the tool inside the insulator pack until the contact is secured with a clip (until it stops).
Do not rotate or tilt the removal tool to the side.
When using large diameter wires with high rigidity, manual installation of contacts is possible without the use of tools.
4. Remove the tool and check the reliability of the contact fixation by lightly pulling the wire; the force during testing should be between 4.9 and 19.6 N.
Removing of contacts is carried out in the following sequence:
Insert the wire of the contact to be extracted into the longitudinal slot of the unpainted side of the tool at a distance of at least 10 mm from the insulator and, setting the tool perpendicular to the surface of the insulator, move the tool along the wire until it stops at the flange, then, using your finger to press the wire into the notch on the tool strap, remove the contact.
